Alateens - Middle School /High School grades
All meetings are approved by and held at the UNITED METHODIST CHURCH (297 North St, Waynesville, OH 45068) every TUESDAY at 1pm on the dates listed below. All students are asked to enter the Third Street Door and look for the signs to the meeting.

Programs Available to our district yearly:
Botvin Life Skills Training : an evidence based program to strengthen decision making, communication, and conflict resolution skills and provide tobacco, alcohol and other drug prevention education
Program materials developed for students in Gr 3- High School
Program: 8-10 sessions (45-60 minutes)
Social Skills Grin: an evidence based program to develop social skills; also appropriate for students who are involved with bullying situations. Program materials developed for students in Pre K-Middle School
Program: 8-10 sessions (45-60 minutes)
Children Coping with Divorce: aims to reduce the stress of family transitions and foster healthy adjustments to changes in the family structure due to divorce
Program materials developed for students in Kindergarten – 8th grade
Program: 8 sessions (45 minutes)
Teen Conflict Management: Using a cognitive behavioral approach, the program is designed to help teens identify the primary reasons they get into conflicts and develop the conflict management skills necessary to maintain healthy casual, personal, and workplace relationships
Program materials developed for students Grades 7-12
Program: 10 sessions (60 minutes)
Learning to Beat Anxiety: using a cognitive behavioral approach, the program aims to reduce anxiety and build positive coping skills by helping students identify and manage emotions and develop problem solving strategies.
Program materials developed for students in Grades 3-8.
Program: 6-9 sessions (45-60 minutes)
Ophelia/Voices: A research based program based on a cognitive behavioral approach, the program addresses the unique needs of adolescent girls. It uses “interactive journaling” to empower girls to discover their “true selves” and make positive connections with others.
Program materials developed for girls in Grades 7-12
Program: 10-12 sessions (45-60 minutes)
NEW Positively Male: A program to help boys acquire the knowledge, attitudes, and interpersonal skills to understand and respect self and others. Sessions focus on developing healthy self-esteem, goal setting, strengthening decision making skills, understanding personal communication and conflict resolution styles, learning how to communicate effectively, resolve differences and deal with peer pressure, and practicing healthy lifestyle behaviors.

Group description:
Anger Management: This program will teach your teen how to control his/her anger and improve his/her social skills.Teenage anger management programs will also help your teen communicate more effectively with peers and adults. This group will meet for 9 weeks STARTING LATE FEBRUARY 2017. Groups may be gender mixed and depends on sign up.
Voices: A research based program based on a cognitive behavioral approach, the program addresses the unique needs of adolescent girls. It uses “interactive journaling” to empower girls to discover their “true selves” and make positive connections with others. This group is led by a certified prevention staff member from Solutions.
