If you are a ninth, tenth, eleventh, or twelfth grade student, the Post-Secondary Enrollment Options
Program provides you with an opportunity to take classes at eligible Post-secondary institutions. These institutions include community colleges, post-secondary vocational technical institutions, state universities, and many private colleges and universities. The purpose of the program is to promote rigorous academic pursuits and to provide a wider variety of options to high school students. You and your parents may have several questions about this program. ATTENDING A PSEO INFORMATIONAL MEETING IS REQUIRED BY PARENT AND STUDENT INORDER TO PARTICIPATE.

universities, BEFORE YOU TAKE PSEO CLASSES

From here you can:
- Create a CAS account,
- Store your courses
- See how your courses will transfer and apply to your intended degree program.
Example:
I want to get my degree from institution X in _____________________, but I am going to start at institution Y.
What can I take that will not only transfer to institution X, but will meet degree requirements for my program of study? CAS will even convert the course numbers for you!
PSEO STEPS TO FOLLOW:
1. Attend PSEO informational meeting (Mason High School is having one Feb 29)
2. Research which college you want to attend and see if you meet their requirements
3. Fill out the application and get it to Ms. Joe along with the application fee (a check made out to the college) (May 1)
4. Follow all testing requirements set by the college (send ACT or SAT scores to the college from the testing registration center. Log on to www.act.org or www.collegeboard.org to do request your scores be sent. You may be asked to take the college's own placement testing if your ACT/SAT scores aren't high enough. (March -April- May)
5. Communicate with your college academic advisor regarding any questions you may have (May thru July)
6. Register for classes with the college (August) Go to www.ratemyprofessor.com to choose between two professors teaching the same class. See how students rate current professors at your secondary institution.
7. Confim with Ms. Joe your high school schedule if you are doing part time PSEO (mid August)
8. Get your college books
9. Go to college class!

YOU MUST ATTEND A PSEO COUNSELING SESSION PRIOR TO FILLING OUT AN APPLICATION. YOU MUST PROVIDE PROOF OF ATTENDANCE IF YOU ATTEND A MEETING OUTSIDE OF OUR DISTRICT.
AREA PSEO APPLICATIONS Follow instructions and deadlines. Return completed applications to Ms. Joefreda no later than two weeks before application due date.
