OHSAA Leadership Conference 2015
OHSAA Leadership Conference- “Simply Inspiring”
On October 6th, fifteen high school students attended the OHSAA Leadership Conference at The Ohio State University. Over 1500 students from New York to California attended. The OHSAA Conference is the largest one-day Leadership Conference in the country! The overall message of the conference this year was about “overcoming obstacles.” No matter what challenges present themselves in your life the goal is to allow them to help MAKE you and not break you. Students were encouraged to learn something to make you a better leader every day . Make the commitment to being a great leader but more importantly KEEP the commitment especially when you are faced with peer pressure. Everyone can make a commitment but leaders KEEP the commitment. The reward when you honor your commitment is huge and YOU are the recipient of that reward. The final message of the conference was to remember that when YOU spend time leading other people to be successful YOU in turn are experiencing one of the greatest moments of success you will ever know.
Teachers nominated the following students as potential leaders of the future. The following students were those that were able to attend this wonderful conference: Kerstyn Purkey, Kate Von Handorf, Mason Callahan, Brian Blair, Jackson Beachler, Taylor Ritter, Carly Conner, Jon Nichols, Colt Wells, Josh Marshall, Cheyenne Smith, Hannah Bulcher, Grant Johnson, Gracie Robbins, and Ashton Rice. I am looking to these students to help us compete for the “Golden Megaphone Award” this year. If you think your child would be interested in helping with this project please contact me. If your child would like to attend a leadership conference in the future please tell them to see Ms. Joe.
